On August 7, 2018, MUBS trained soldiers at Gaddafi Barracks Jinja on the challenges of African Leadership. The soldiers trained were in the category of Junior Staff and Command College. Among the facilitators was Prof. Balunywa who shared knowledge about the challenges of African leadership. The gist of his discussion was more than 300 years after the industrial revolution, 80% of Africa still lives on subsistence farming. He attributed this backwardness to the problem of failure of Africa to develop science, the nature of capitalism which has made the West frustrate the effort of Africa to grow and some of the policies that African governments run. Other facilitator include, Dr. Isa Nsereko and Mr. Gad Mutaremwa and Mr. Lubogoyi Bumaali.
