The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, has asked MUBS to work on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry so as to implement the student innovations. He represented the Minister for Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni at the launch of the MUBS (EIIC) on November 13, 2019.
The Minister of Education lauded MUBS for spearheading the teaching of entrepreneurship in the early 1990’s which has spread in all public and private Universities and in doing so it has contributed to the economic development of the country. He further commended the School for nurturing the young people for the competitive job market through supporting their innovative ideas. “MUBS has not only promoted entrepreneurship but also valuable and impactful innovations that are intended to solve challenges in the community” he commended.
The launching of the Center was one of the first key activities of the 14th Annual Entrepreneurship Conference, which was held at Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo from November 14 to 15, 2019. The Conference intended to attract entrepreneurs, researchers, practitioners and policymakers to discuss topical issues in entrepreneurship.
According to the Director, MUBS EIIC Ms. Diana Ntamu, the Conference which was organized under the theme, “Uganda’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem; Does it work?”, sought to understand the environment in which entrepreneurs operate, what happens among the different players, what are the different players in the entrepreneurial environment doing? What is missing and what are we doing well so that it can be replicated.
