The Abasoga Nseete emerged then overall winners with 86 points followed by the Western Uganda Students Association who
scored 78 points while Baganda Nkobazambogo took the third position with 70 points.
This Cultural Gala was held on March 07, 2024, the Campus premises in Jinja.
In attendance was the Minister for Culture in Busoga Kingdom Owek. Richard Mafumo, who called upon people to promote and appreciate traditional values of the different people, emphasizing that all people are defined by their culture.
Culture is a way of life and discipline, it defines situations, it is a sign of our heritage and plays a very big role in education, development and unity. A community that therefore understands and celebrates its culture is worthy to associate with.
Culture is the lifeblood of a vibrant society, expressed in the many ways, we tell our stories, celebrate, remember the past, entertain ourselves, and imagine the future just as it was vibrantly showcased in the day’s celebration. He challenged people to understand one another’s culture for better relationship.”
The Keynote Speaker, Owek. Nathan Ngobi, the Chief of Bunanumba, Mayuge District challenged the students to discover who they are, brand and package themselves well to be received by the world. Utilize the available opportunities and make the best use of your time at the university.
