Third Year Students attending the last Lecture
On Friday April 12, 2024, the Ag. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi, addressed the final year students on how to survive and face the future outside the University gate
This was at the “last lecture” annually organized by the MUBS Entrepreneurship Innovation and Incubation Centre at the MUBS Main Campus, Nakawa.
Prof. Muhwezi reminded the students why they came to University, “Your parents sent you to MUBS to study, care for yourself, be disciplined and to be changed people. Isolate core from non core and choose right from wrong. Getting a degree is not everything, you have to stay within reason.
Seek knowledge even after you leave MUBS”. Always seek wisdom since the knowledge you have acquired at school is not enough to survive. ” Knowledge is not enough without wisdom, you need to be wise, and always aim for excellence. Do not be average.
‘’We had enough campaigns about HIV and drugs, I hope you have picked a leaf. You have to work on your brand, it will not be delivered to you at your door step. Be the best, learn to communicate, be courteous and disciplined, work hard, read to keep relevant and be in the right place at the right time. There are no shortcuts in life.
Meanwhile the Dean of Students, Ms. Juliet Kateega emphasized that the last lecture is to prepare the final year students to go out and face the world.
She encouraged them to confront the world as it presents its self to them, “place your self where you know there are blessings, obey God, do not give up, run to win, build networks and be positive to handle and manage the challenges as they come.’ ` And the Director MUBS Entrepreneurship Innovation and Incubation Centre, Dr. Diana Ntamu said the Centre is ready and willing to receive the different business ideas from the third-year students and give them support, training and incubation.
She encouraged them to apply and join the Graduate in Employment program, participate in the Centre programs, as the Centre is ready to support them.
