Bwomeezi the founder of Matt Ushers a student of Entreprenuership and Small Business Management waiting to graduate in 2025, says, he started business to solve the problem of disorganization at parties and functions and also to reduce the pressure of the party owners who are always busy, with settling in the guests instead of attending to them.
Matt Ushers solves the problem by   providing a good ambiance to the  guests by warmly welcoming the guests, showing them where to sit, serving them among others.
Matt Ushers was also started to address    the problem of employment among University students especially those who come from less privileged families, struggle with feeding and upkeep in their hostels.

The business employs over 45 students who work as ushers at different functions especially on weekends and public holidays.

On a good day, a student can earn UGx.100,000 and it does not take us more than two week to get a function. We are growing so fast, and we hope to recruit more people. In a week, the business brings in at least 500,000 shillings as profit and we hope the profit to increase. I do not intend to look for employment, but to continue running this business. We can only change the economy by starting our own business and employ others than seeking for the unavailable jobs.

I appreciate the Ag. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi for approving the mentorship and coaching program which is good for entrepreneurship students. And probably the School can think of replacing the internship with the mentorship program for all Entrepreneurship students. Students do not need to work in other people’s businesses to acquire experience and exposure but rather encouraged to start our own ventures.
I also laud the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and Department of Entrepreneurship for being innovative and supporting t us during this mentorship program. Special appreciation to Ms. Maureen Mukhoda, the program coordinator for enabling us to bring out our potential and our mentors who have sacrificed their time to make this program a success.
