In a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between academia and cultural heritage, the Student Leadership of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) expressed profound gratitude to the Buganda Kingdom for its unwavering commitment to the youth and the nation.
“This engagement is an invaluable opportunity for us to reconnect with our roots, learn from our heritage, and prepare as responsible future leaders,” The meeting, organized by the central government, featured an enlightening session with the Kabaka’s Minister for Youth, Sports, and Recreation, Hon. Ssalongo Robert Sselwanga. “I encourage all students to embrace their cultural heritage while striving for excellence in leadership,” he advised. Special recognition was extended to Prince Henry Kayondo, Speaker of the Royal Family, for his insightful
guidance. The collaborative effort was championed by the MUBS Guild Ministers and the leadership of the Ssentebe, Baganda Nkobazambogo MUBS Chapter, ensuring students understand and embrace their rich heritage while building a positive relationship with the Kingdom.
“The Kingdom plays a pivotal role in fostering unity, preserving culture, and empowering young leaders,” noted Hon. Onyanyo Musa. “By reconnecting with our roots, we gain strength, identity, and values that shape us into conscientious future leaders.”
The MUBS student leadership is committed to continue with this partnership, building bridges of understanding, and contributing to a prosperous Uganda in collaboration with cultural institutions.
