MUBS Guild President, Rose Nabwire, recently participated in a historic celebration honoring the legacy of Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere in Butiama, Tanzania. Reflecting on the visit, Nabwire said: “I honestly believe that Africa is not just a continent on the map, it’s a story waiting to be told and a dream waiting to be shared.”

The celebration provided an opportunity to recognize Nyerere’s enduring influence on African leadership, unity, and social development. Nabwire described the experience as a profound reminder of Africa’s rich history and the shared responsibility of its youth to carry forward the vision of the continent’s founding leaders.

“It was a pleasure to celebrate the legacy of Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere in Tanzania, Butiama,” she added. As part of her leadership role, Nabwire emphasizes the importance of connecting with historical legacies across Africa, inspiring MUBS students to embrace Pan- African values, cultural heritage, and visionary leadership.
