Ms. Mariam Nakiggude Lugolobi addressing students on career prospects and university entry requirements

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and commitment to nurturing future leaders, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) conducted a career guidance and motivational session for Senior Six candidates at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School ahead of their final Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations. The event took place on October 28, 2025.

The students were encouraged to remain disciplined, confident, and focused as they prepared for this critical stage in their academic journey.

The In-Charge of the Career Guidance Unit, Ms. Mariam Nakiggudde Lugolobi, addressed the students, commending them for their dedication and resilience throughout the school year. “Consistent hard work and determination are key to both academic and professional success. Stay focused, believe in your abilities, and take this opportunity to excel,” she said.

Students were also introduced to MUBS’s diverse and market-driven academic programs, designed to prepare graduates for real-world challenges. Many students from schools across the country, including Kawempe Muslim, go on to join MUBS to further their education and careers.

“We look forward to welcoming these bright young learners into the MUBS community as they take the next step in shaping their futures,” Ms. Nakiggudde added. The Head of Career Guidance at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, commended MUBS for the initiative that bridges secondary and tertiary education, highlighting the university’s ongoing efforts to support youth nationwide through mentorship and career guidance programs.

This initiative forms part of MUBS’ nationwide outreach program, helping learners make informed choices about higher education while fostering a strong link between secondary schools and the university. Students left the session motivated, equipped with practical guidance, and inspired to pursue their academic and professional ambitions.
