Trainers and women entrepreneurs at the MUBS–EIIC 10X Digital Economy program, building digital skills to grow businesses

Over 14–18 November, 2025, women entrepreneurs across Mbale, Tororo, Kapchorwa, Kween, and Busia participated in a regional digital skills onboarding led by Makerere University Business School’s Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Incubation Centre (MUBS– EIIC) under the 10X Digital Economy Program.

The initiative aims to equip women-led businesses with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance competitiveness, expand market access, and ensure long-term sustainability. During the outreach, participants received hands-on training in managing online storefronts, integrating digital payment systems, and leveraging productivity tools to improve efficiency.

Dr. Diana Ntamu, Director MUBS–EIIC, highlighted the transformative potential of digital skills, saying they enable women to build resilient businesses capable of navigating economic challenges.

Women entrepreneurs said the training helped them streamline record keeping, expand their customer base, and cut operational costs, showcasing the program’s tangible impact on their businesses.

The 10X Digital Economy Program continues to drive MUBS–EIIC’s mission of fostering innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, and accelerating Uganda’s transition to a technology-driven economy, with further regional engagements, mentorship sessions, and workshops planned in the coming months.
