MUBS leadership urged support staff to uphold professionalism, financial discipline, and teamwork during the 4th Annual General Meeting of the MUBS Support Staff Association (MUBSSSA) on Thursday, 7th November 2025, at MUBS main Campus, Nakawa
Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi commended support staff for their dedication, noting that the university’s growing student population requires increased commitment and efficiency. “MUBS now has a large student body, and this means we have to work very hard. It is our duty to ensure that our students and stakeholders are well served,” he said. He encouraged staff to join MUBS SACCO and avoid unnecessary bank loans, highlighting financial discipline as essential for personal stability and institutional growth. “We shall conduct financial literacy sessions to guide you on managing your money, spending wisely, and saving for the future. Responsible financial management is key to long-term security,” he added. In addition to financial responsibility, he urged staff to maintain high standards of professionalism, including punctuality, appropriate attire, and excellent customer service. “Support staff are often the first point of contact for our students and stakeholders. Always represent MUBS well, respect one another, and avoid actions that could jeopardize your employment. If issues arise, communicate openly, and we are always ready to listen,” Prof. Muhwezi emphasized.
Ms. Christine Nanyombi Mubiru, Chief Human Resources Officer, commended staff for their dedication and highlighted HR policy improvements to strengthen working conditions and accountability.
Mr. John Paul Opolot, Chairperson of MUBSSSA, commended management for addressing key staff concerns, including salary harmonization and permanency.
Mr. Geoffrey Emong, Support Staff Representative on the MUBS Council, emphasized the importance of teamwork. The AGM reinforced a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and service excellence among MUBS support staff.
