0n December 12, 2025 Makerere University Business School (MUBS) successfully hosted its Annual Staff Party and Thanksgiving, reflecting on a year of resilience, growth and measurable achievement.

MUBS Council Chairperson, Mrs. Olive Birungi Lumonya, graced the Annual Staff Party, and extended her sincere appreciation to the institution for the strides made in the year 2025. Mrs. Lumonya reaffirmed the Council’s unwavering dedication to serving MUBS, emphasizing their commitment to fostering a supportive environment for staff, and driving MUBS’ continued growth and success. ‘’You have really shown very good team spirit and positive energy today, put this good energy in everything you do. It is the power of God that has brought us this far’’, she said.

MUBS Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi noted that ‘’2024 was challenging, but this year 2025 has shown meaningful improvement, and we must maintain this momentum as we continue to build and grow MUBS’’,

We thank the MUBS Council, Top management, and above all, God, for these achievements. As we look toward 2026, let us uphold unity, respect, staff development, and continued infrastructure growth

He also said that despite any difficulties, the staff’s duty to serve remains steadfast.

Prof. Muhwezi congratulated Assoc. Prof. Rachel Mindra Katoroogo on her appointment as the Ag. Deputy Principal and also congratulated all staff that have been appointed and promoted to various positions.

Prof. Muhwezi further highlighted some achievements MUBS has realized including graduating the highest number of students in our history at the Makerere University 76th graduation, a testament to Staff hard work and dedication, the 126 staff members that were promoted, successful conferences, new MoUs, staff support initiatives, and progress in capital development including plans for 1,000-capacity hostels for both girls and boys.

Ag. Deputy Principal Assoc. Prof. Rachel Mindra Katoroogo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MUBS Council for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging Prof Moses Muhwezi mentorship.

She also thanked the MUBS community for their support and reaffirmed her commitment to lead with excellence, calling for unity and collective effort to advance MUBS’ goals and uphold its values.

The event celebrated major milestones recorded in 2025, including staff promotions, academic growth, infrastructure development and strategic partnerships.
