On January 27, 2026 Makerere University Business School held a collaboration meeting with Ecowater International, Ecowater International was pleased to present this proposal for a strategic partnership with MUBS to establish an innovative and sustainable on- campus drinking-water service.

This Initiative is designed to provide students, staff, and the MUBS Community with a reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly source of purified drinking water right where they need it most.

Drawing from their successful experience in more than 18 universities across Tanzania, Ecowater is ready to make a full investment in the infrastructure, installation, and operation of this service.

This partnership offers MUBS a cost-free, sustainable, and student-friendly solution for drinking water. It improves health, supports learning, and reduces environmental impact while empowering students through internship and engagement opportunities.

Ecowater is committed to working hand-in-hand with MUBS to make this project a model of innovation, affordability, and sustainability in Ugandan higher education.

Together, we can make MUBS a greener, healthier, and more student-centered campus—one drop at a time.

This partnership goes beyond water provision to create real learning opportunities for MUBS students, including;

  • Internships at Ecowater offices: Students will undertake field attachments in areas such as marketing, business management, ICT systems, and operations. These internships provide practical work experience and small stipends, while helping students connect theory to practice in areas like entrepreneurship and digital systems management.
  • Campus-based opportunities: Students can work as store ambassadors to support awareness, marketing, and customer assistance.
