Prof. Sheilah Namagembe said that the aim of the workshop was to empower both students and academic staff in using and interpreting supply chain data during decision making or solving supply chain problems. . Dr. Benno Gertach from Technische Universität Berlin Germany urged Staff and researchers to analyze data in order to get information and knowledge of the real world. This conception applies to business in-terms of business analytics which means using data and fact-based management to make decisions. Dr. Benno advised the Lecturers of the Faculty of procurement that, one has a decision to make, and he gave an example of a branch manager for pastry shops where to open the next branch.
