On October 20, 2024, St. James Chapel MUBS bid farewell to the Assistant Bishop of Kampala Dioceses Rt. Rev. Dr. Hannington Mutebi who has retired after serving in that position for ten, (10) years. He was at MUBS on a pastoral visit where he confirmed seven (7) students into the Anglican faith. He also prayed for the Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi for God to protect and give him wisdom to lead the  institution.

Through out his sermon, Bishop Mutebi commended MUBS leadership and charged them to look into the future with faith, courage and God’s guidance. Rt. Rev. Dr. Mutebi led the service under the theme “the invitation you can not turn down’’ got from the book of Jude 1:17-25 and Luke 14:16-24.

He encouraged believers to take up the responsibility of sharing the Gospel to transform their Communities. He emphasized that, “God created us for a reason and loves us, but He desires that we do what He calls us to do. We have to respond to His invitation’’. To those who were confirmed, the Bishop encouraged them to eagerly understand and receive God’s invitation because God has plans for them. He however stressed that responding to God’s invitation requires humility and respect.

Meanwhile his dear wife, Mama Milly Mutebi, encouraged Christians to serve the Lord along side their other duties.

The Ag. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi urged the community to know God and live by faith. To the leaders he charged them to have humility, while exercising authority. He acknowledged the service above self that Bishop Mutebi has portrayed to the church, country and communities, “Your services are not in vein, God has kept a crown for you’’.

Meanwhile MUBS Council Vice Chairman Mr. James Mwesigye said ‘’ MUBS exists to enable the future of our clients by creating knowledge. “If you do not walk with the Lord the knowledge you create may be useless’’.

He encouraged the community to believe in God because His assurances and promise are yes and Amen. ‘’Keep walking with the Lord, He is a miracle worker.”
