Be part of the group that will graduate after the three years here at MUBS’’, said the MUBS Council Chairman, Eng. Isaac Ngobya while addressing first year students during their Freshers’ Ball party that took place on November 17, 2023 at the MUBS Main Campus Pitch.
He cautioned students against HIV/AIDS saying that HIV is still alive and no one should leave the University with HIV. “Dress well, do not cheat examinations, do community work like cleaning hostels and use technology properly and you will succeed in life’’, he added.
The MUBS Ag. Principal Prof.Moses Muhwezi also advised the first-year students to always thirst for knowledge in order to understand whatever they learn. Use your University time to develop careers, relationships, acquire knowledge and maturity. ‘’Congratulate yourselves for being the lucky ones to join. MUBS. While here, we expect you to do your course works, attend all your lectures, read widely and be disciplined.
Learn how to reason and do not be educated fools, have ability to know what is right and wrong. As Management, we shall expose you, campaign for you and always tell people out there that our MUBS students are the best’’, he added.
He further called upon students to be useful to their communities, their parents, and to avoid errors of life so that they live longer because they need time to accomplish the game of life. There is time for everything, do not mix thing’’. At the same event, Mr. Edward Kiwanuka , Chairperson MUBS Students C o m m i t t e e thanked the first- year students for choosing MUBS and advised them to explore every opportunity that comes in leadership, sports and academics, be focused. ‘’Your parents and the nation have hope in you, do not disappoint them. We are here to provide a conducive environment for your learning and we pledge to make your stay at MUBS comfortable. Mr. Kiwanuka thanked the Sports team for the concluded wins in various sports activities and asked them to keep lifting the MUBS sports flag high.
The Guild President H.E. Christopher Wasswa thanked Management for the support towards the event and welcomed the first-year students to MUBS. ‘’ We welcome you and whenever you get challenges feel free to reach the Guild office. Enjoy your day today but mind about your security’’, he said.
