Makerere University Business School (MUBS) recently hosted Dr. Ing. Hans Ullrich Foster and Dr. Lester Brian Shawa from Learn Logistics, under the Learn Logistics initiative promoting sustainable logistics and operational excellence.

The two experts delivered guest lectures to MUBS students, focusing on hands-on project management using de-carbonization of logistics as a case study for Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Management (BPSM) and Bachelor of Transport and Logistics Management (BTLM) students, and Supply Chain Leadership through operational excellence for the Master of Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) students.

Speaking during the Lecture, MUBS Principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi, expressed his appreciation to the visiting guest lecturers: “We are grateful to our distinguished Guests for sharing their expertise and insights with our students. Their engagement enriches our curriculum and bridges the gap between academia and the evolving global logistics industry.”

The lectures provided students with valuable international perspectives on sustainability, innovation, and leadership within the logistics and supply chain sectors. Visiting Professors play a transformative role in higher education.

They bring a wealth of international experience, challenge conventional thinking, and inspire students to view their disciplines through a global lens. Their engagement fosters cross-cultural collaboration, enriches academic dialogue, and strengthens institutional partnerships that drive innovation and excellence in research and learning.
