Conflicts affects businesses and organisations, it breaks communities and when its dysfunctional, it disturbs people.
The Director, MUBS Entrepreneurship Innovations and Incubation Centre Dr. Diana Ntamu congratulated the graduates upon completing the 4-day International Commercial Arbitration training for arbitration practitioners that took place from January 29- February 01, 2024 at MUBS Main Campus Nakawa. She said conflicts are part of life and they affect businesses and organisations negatively, break communities and when they are dysfunctional, they disturb communities. That is why MUBS and Arbitration and Mediation Society Uganda (AMSU) train arbitrators so that they can apply the knowledge to help people in business and local communities to dissolve conflicts. When conflicts are settled, we shall then witness our societies moving on well and our businesses will grow. However the public needs to understand the conflicts they face and their sources to be able to find a trained mediator to help them resolve the conflicts other than opting to go to court. She asked the trainees to go back to their communities and resolve disputes among people and also create awareness about the Arbitration trainings.
If conflict is not managed well, it affects businesses and families. So this package comes to resolve and boost trade, wellness in mind and promote good relationships. Conflicts start small but become toxic if not managed, that is why mediation becomes vital.

She urged policy makers to let mediation be one of the requirements before one takes the case to court, this will help to clear the backlogs in courts of Uganda. Meanwhile Counsel Ruth Kulabako Trainer/Mediator at Arbitration and Mediation Society of Uganda says People need to change the way they think about Mediation. It is not only for the educated but also for every Ugandan, it helps in solving disputes amicably other than wasting time and money going to Court. She called upon the media to inform the public about such trainings so that Uganda has more mediators.
