The Office of the Dean of Students at MUBS Arua Campus organized a Guild Leadership Training and Workshop for the
guild executives that took place from October 4 – 5, 2024 at LeTsuba Grand Hotel, Arua. Under the theme “Elevate your leadership skills”; The training aimed at empowering the young leaders with transformative leadership skills to enable them to maximize their potential to advocate for better service delivery to the Students community and to promote matters of interest of the University.

Ms. Gladies Angundaru, the Campus Chief encouraged the guild leaders to pick interest in knowing and understanding the background and the structure of the Campus. This will enable the student leaders to understand their role and successfully lead and guide fellow students.The Campus Dean of Students, Ms. Sharon Lalam congratulated the guild officials upon being elected. She said the training intended to guide the young leaders in-line with the challenges they normally face during their term of office and to equip them with skills on how to handle the challenges thus ensuring a smooth running of the campus. And the Campus Bursar, Ms. Christine Anguonziru took
the guild leaders through the importance of ethics and accountability which plays apivotal roles in leadership.

She emphasized that as leaders they are openly answerable for any decisions they make on behalf of the students community. She encouraged them to set clear expectations while they serve as role models, communicate openly and provide feedback based on ethical behavior. Meanwhile, Ms. Consolate Olemaru a Communications Specialist from took the Guild through the art of public speaking and effective communication to enable the student leaders communicate
effectively and to speak with confidence and authority.
