MUBS Jinja Regional Campus staff jubilating after winning the 5th Editi on of the MUBASA Festival

Annually MUBS Academic Staff from all Faculti es and Regional Campuses Under their Umbrella MUBS Academic Staff Associati on (MUBASA) come together for a sports day dubbed the MUBASA Festi val. This year 2024 the festi val was held on Saturday January 13, 2023 at MUBS Main Campus Pitch, Nakawa. Jinja Regional Campus emerged the overall winners of the MUBASA festi val aft er scooping the highest number of medals in most of the games, followed by the Faculty of Marketi ng and Internati onal Business and the Faculty of Business Administrati on in the third positi on. While adressing Staff , Ag. Principal Prof Moses Muhwezi appreciated the Chairperson of MUBASA and his team for organizing such a wonderful event. I hope that the aim of holding the festi val which is mainly to ensure that there is team work, networking and having a good feeling have been achieved. He requested the MUBASA organising committ ee to consider holding the festi val among the Regional Campuses in a rotati on per year and he requested the members of the Management Committ ee present to support the idea in case it comes in the budget provision meeti ng. The Ag. Principal informed Staff and the sports fraternity that AFCON chose MUBS to be one of the training grounds for their players and they intend to elevate the standard of the MUBS pitch, so soon the sports fraternity will have most of the challenges solved. Prof Muhwezi thanked every Staff , Deans of Faculties, who sponsored the Festival, appreciated all participants for their contribution made towards this event and wished them a happy and a tremendous new year 2024. The Chairperson MUBASA Mr. Edwin Napakwor appreciated the School Management for the supporting the event and also appreciated all Deans and Heads of Departments that sponsored their different teams at the festival.

He also appreciated the Regional Campus Directors for mobilizing their Staff to make it to the festival and encouraged them to continue with that mutual effort.

Mr. Napakwor further appreciated all participants for the friendship and competitiveness they portrayed and also for being committed to the MUBS as well as the MUBASA cause. The Director, Mbarara Regional Campus Dr. Pontius Byarugaba applauded the MUBASA team for the arrangement, welcomed the team from Mbarara and thanked them for having come in big numbers and noted that in Mbarara they are united and they work as a team and this has enabled them to maneuver many challenges and assured the organizers that Mbarara will always come in big numbers. He further requested the MUBASA organizing committee that the next edition of the festival should be hosted by Mbarara Regional Campus. Dr. Veronica Mukyala, Director Jinja Regional Campus applauded the School Management for the endless support they render to the Campus, thanked the Jinja Campus team for actively participating in the sports activities and appreciated the other teams for turning up to make the festival a colorful event. The Head of Quality Assurance Mr. Nakola Norman who represented the Director of Mbale Regional Campus presented the apologies from the Mbale Campus Director who was not able to make it to the event. Mr. Nakola appreciated the team from Mbale campus for the active participation that enabled them to turn up for the festival. He Pledges that in the next festival they will contend for the first position. Ms. Asinduru Harriet, Head of Accounting Arua Regional Campus who represented the Campus Director Ms. Gladys Angunduru who was not able to make it to the event delivered greetings from the Arua Regional Campus Management and Staff. She appreciated the team of Arua for doing their best because the Arua campus did better that the previous festival held in 2023. She also expressed the interest of hosting the MUBASA festival at Arua Campus.
