Makerere University Business School (MUBS) strengthened its internationalization agenda by hosting senior leaders from the Binary University of Management and Entrepreneurship (BUME), Malaysia at its Main Campus, Nakawa, on Friday, 21 November 2025. The high-level meeting focused on expanding collaboration in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.
Prof. Moses Muhwezi, MUBS Principal, welcomed H.E. Tan Sri Dato Professor Joseph Adaikalam, Founder and Executive Chairman of Binary University, and H.E. Puan Sri Datin Professor Dr. Rohini Devi, Founding Director of the Centre for Women Leadership (CWL). During discussions, both Institutions explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in areas that foster global academic excellence and cross-border impact.
Speaking on the significance of the engagement, Prof. Muhwezi said: “Universities must build strong global networks to enhance knowledge exchange, expand research impact, and prepare students for a competitive international environment. Partnerships such as this provide a platform for joint academic programs, cross-cultural learning, staff and student mobility, and innovative research.”
The Binary University delegation highlighted shared priorities, including entrepreneurship development, women leadership, digital transformation, and capacity-building initiatives, emphasizing the potential of joint programs to foster innovation, cultivate leadership, and create opportunities for students and faculty from both institutions.
