Makerere University Business School (MUBS), through its Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation Centre under the GROW Project, has launched the GROW Essential Skills Training Program for women entrepreneurs in Butambala District. Starting on August 6, 2025, the initiative, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development and funded by the World Bank, was conducted in two locations in Butambala Districts that is Bulo and Gombe and five hundred fifty two (552) women were trained and graduated with certificates, this aims to equip women with essential business and life skills such as financial literacy, customer relations, and goal setting.

The program is part of a broader national effort to promote inclusive economic empowerment. In addition to technical training, participants will benefit from mentorship and peer support to help overcome common challenges in business. This initiative reflects MUBS’ ongoing commitment to addressing gender-based barriers and advancing women’s economic self-reliance across Uganda.
