Prof. Sheila Namagembe with the MUBS delegation at the 7th African Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management held in South Africa

Prof. Sheila Namagembe, Dean Faculty of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, led a six-member delegation from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) to the 7th African Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management (ACOSCM), held from 16th to 18th September 2025 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

The prestigious event brought together scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from across Africa and beyond to explore critical issues and innovations in logistics, supply chain management, and transportation. ACOSCM has established itself as one of the leading academic forums for advancing thought leadership and collaboration in these sectors within the African context.

MUBS’ participation at the 2025 edition underscored its commitment to contributing to research, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in supply chain and operations management across the continent.

This engagement not only highlighted MUBS’s thought leadership in the field but also opened new avenues for collaboration, curriculum development, and industry-academia partnerships aimed at advancing Africa’s logistics and supply chain capabilities.

ACOSCM has a strong track record of rotating across major African cities. Previous conferences were held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (2024); Kampala, Uganda (2023); Nairobi, Kenya (2022); Kigali, Rwanda (2021); Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2019); and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2018).
