Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KenyaCIC) to foster collaboration in advancing climate innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development across Uganda and the wider East African region.
The partnership aims to leverage the expertise and resources of both institutions in research, innovation, and enterprise development, targeting critical challenges related to climate change and green growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Moses Muhwezi, Principal of MUBS, highlighted the importance of the collaboration: “This partnership presents a unique opportunity to harness innovation and entrepreneurial talent to address climate-related challenges while promoting sustainable economic growth.
By working together with KenyaCIC, we aim to empower young innovators and entrepreneurs to develop solutions that have both local and regional impact.” The MoU outlines joint initiatives in areas such as capacity building, research collaboration, entrepreneurship training, and incubation of climate-focused enterprises. Both institutions will also engage in knowledge exchange, mentorship programmes, and the development of innovative solutions to support green growth and environmental sustainability.
