Prof. Moses  Muhwezi in Mbarara at the stakeholder’s consultative workshop

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, MUBS Ag. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi officiated at the Consultative work shop organized for Women Entrepreneurs running small enterprises in Mbarara. The purpose of the workshop was to interact with Women Entrepreneurs running small business to establish their challenges, gaps and training needs in order for MUBS to develop a curriculum that will be  useful to the entrepreneurs
The Workshop held at Hotel Triangle Mbarara, also occurred simultaneously in Oyam, Arua, Jinja, and Masaka.

MUBS is developing the curriculum for the training women beneficiaries in entrepreneurial mindset, personal initiative, mobile phone and business managing business operations,  dealing with customers, gender issues and sustainability. The project will improve business  operations among women in the country.
Prof. Muhwezi noted that MUBS has developed the curriculum and this curriculum will be used to train all women entrepreneurs in different languages on what to do, how business is done, how to make decisions so that they can improve their businesses. The women called upon Uganda Revenue Authority to reduce on their taxes since their businesses are still growing.

Dr. Diana Ntamu said that the GROW project focuses on helping women to transit from where they are to another level and also improve on their incomes because when women earn, it means their families are better off.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 Prof. Moses Muhwezi  was at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) Business Incubation Centre and launched the Enterprise Development Programme, a programme funded by the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Bank. MUBS through the MUBS Entreprenuership, Innovation and Incubation Centre is one of the Implementation partners to develop the curriculum and
training aimed at training SMEs, Youth and Women enterprises to bridge the gap in terms of helping Youth and Women Enterprises access funding.

The program targets close to 93 SMEs. The training is to help them to improve their Entrepreneurial Mindset, Personal sense of purpose, budgeting, Debt and Risk Management, Business succession, business planning, governance, grant writing, among others.

The training will run for a period of three months, piloted in Central Uganda and will later be disseminated to other regions of the country. It will also be learner centered where learners will be empowered using the action principles of training and hands on training.
