The Dean Faculty of Tourism, Hospitality, and Languages, Assoc. Prof. Milburga Atcero,was recently nominated to represent non- Francophone countries from Sub-Saharan Africa within the Working Group Committee. This appointment highlights her commitment to promoting the mobility of young researchers from this region, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed in the broader context of scientific collaboration.

The nomination was during her official mission in Essaouira, Morocco, from September 11 – 15, 2024. The visit was part of a strategic collaboration involving the French Institute of Morocco, the International Academy of Scientific Francophonie (AUF), and the French Embassy in Morocco.

During her trip, Dean Atcero played a pivotal role in the establishment of a Working Group Committee for the Francophone University Network (AUF). This committee is tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy to enhance the mobility of young researchers, which is crucial for fostering academic exchanges and collaboration within the Francophone community.

In addition to her contributions to the Working Group, Dean Atcero chaired Session two of the international conference titled; The Mobility of Young Researchers: A Lever for the Development of Scientific Francophone? The session was held on September 12- 13, 2024.

Her leadership in this session underscored the importance of nurturing research talent and facilitating mobility among young scholars. Furthermore, this visit enhances the internationalization of MUBS, showcasing the School’s commitment to global academic partnerships and opportunities.

Dean Atcero would like to extend her gratitude to the Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi for granting her permission for this valuable visit, which not only provided insights but also opened doors for future collaborations that will greatly benefit the faculty and the wider academic community.
