Financial instability can be a source of insecurity, said Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi, as he urged the School internal security personnel and its area its area commanders of sister security agencies (UPF, UPDF) to maintain financial discipline, live within their means, and focus on saving.

He emphasized the importance of personal discipline, frugality, and planning for salaries wisely to ensure sustainability throughout the month. Prof. Muhwezi made these remarks on August 8, 2025, while addressing the security team during a security workshop held at the MUBS Main Campus, Nakawa, meant to re-orient security supervisors and area commanders leading MUBS Security. “Maintain high levels of personal discipline and remain vigilant at all times,” he advised. “Avoid engaging in gossip, prioritize continuous learning, and manage your finances prudently to ensure stability throughout the month.” Prof. Muhwezi also reaffirmed the School’s commitment to the continuous professional development of its support staff. “School Management remains dedicated to supporting and empowering our staff through ongoing training and capacity-building initiatives.” “I encourage you to strive for personal growth, always seek to learn, absorb knowledge from those around you, and aim to become a better version of yourself every day.”
He expressed confidence that the workshop would fulfill its objectives and contribute meaningfully to the personal and professional advancement of the security personnel.. Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Jackson Mucunguzi led a session on strike management, urging the security personnel to remain vigilant, stay ahead of potential threats, and understand the causes of student unrest. He stressed the need for clear communication with students and the strategic involvement of law enforcement.

The workshop aimed to equip the MUBS internal security team with essential skills in financial discipline, personal development, vigilance, and effective response strategies in campus security operations.
