Parenting With Rev. Osire
Rev. Francis Osire commended MUBS Management for ending the long-standing nomadic existence of the St. James Chapel community through the construction of a permanent place of worship. He expressed this appreciation in his farewell letter to the Principal and Management of MUBS dated January 12, 2026.
Rev. Osire, who served MUBS from September 1, 2015 to December 31, 2025, not only thanked Management for providing church premises but also for sponsoring his studies toward a Master of Science in Leadership and Governance, as well as for supporting his son with half tuition under the Staff Biological Scheme.
In his letter, Rev. Osire noted that he reported to St. James Chapel on September 1, 2015 after being seconded by the Diocese of Kampala. He expressed gratitude to both the Diocesan leadership and MUBS Management for the trust placed in him to undertake the assignment. He described his time at MUBS as largely positive and fulfilling despite the challenges, noting that the experience was enjoyable and, in many instances, warmly received and appreciated.
For record and appreciation purposes, Rev. Osire thanked the entire MUBS community for working with him to serve and shape the future of their clients during his tenure. While acknowledging that it was not possible to mention everyone, he singled out several individuals and offices for their support, including the Principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi; Assoc. Prof. Rachel Mindra Katoroogo; Msgr. Larry Ssemusu; the Bursar and his team; the Publications Unit; the Deans of FGRS and the Faculty of Management and their teams; the Director of the Leadership Centre; the School Registrar and her team; Dr. Francis Yosa; the Chief Human Resource Officer and her team; the Public Relations team; the Dean of Students and the Guild President; the Director of the Health Centre and his team; and numerous other staff across academic, administrative, ICT, estates, security, and cleaning departments.
Addressing the St. James Chapel team, Rev. Osire praised them for their dedication and teamwork and prayed that God would grant them the grace to continue ministering effectively. He encouraged them to fully utilize the support of the current management and leadership, and to strengthen small Bible study groups in hostels as a means of growing the Chapel and safeguarding sound teachings.
Rev. Osire also expressed appreciation to the Chaplaincy Imam Forum for the valuable lessons shared during discussions aimed at fostering harmony within the MUBS community. He thanked them for their consistent availability during university events and activities, noting that their collaboration fostered a strong sense of family. He concluded by expressing gratitude for sharing both challenging and joyful moments together.
The MUBS Publications Unit would like to appreciate Rev. Osire for contributing to the Monthly Newsletter through the parenting articles.
