Ag. Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi says retakes are mainly as a result of indiscipline, time wasting and un seriousness. The University does not admit dull students, therefore we do not expect you to fail.
The Ag. Principal was addressing the students during the ‘No Retake and Zero examination malpractice’ campaign held on Thursday April 4, 2024, at MUBS Main Campus Nakawa.
Prof. Moses Muhwezi (C) addressing the students
Prof. Muhwezi emphasized that, many students fail because they dodge lectures, others are just lazy, they prefer to take screenshots instead of writing notes during lectures. We have always requested students to report to us any Lecturer who dodges lectures as one of the measure towards reducing failure rate.
Prof. Muhwezi cautioned students against examination Malpractices. It is suicidal to cheat examinations in MUBS because if you are lucky, you will get suspended for some years and your results will be canceled. Very often those who get involved in examination malpractices end up being expelled from the School and when you are expelled, you will never be admitted to any Public University in Uganda.
Students listening to the Principal’s address
During our University days, it was shameful to do a supplementary. Today I am surprised that students are not ashamed of doing retakes, yet retakes are dangerous. Writing a word retake (in bold) on your transcript, sends a bad message not only to the employer but also to your children. Avoid retakes and go back to the system of being ashamed of getting retakes.
Retakes delay the completion of your degree because if not completed, you will never graduate .
