Graduation is celebrating the graduates’ achievements and new beginnings. We therefore celebrate our graduates as they turn the page to a new chapter in their lives. As much as we celebrate with you, you have got to realize that you still have not reached the pinnacle of where God planned you to be. You have toiled to arrive at this time of recognition of your efforts and achievements. We celebrate you, however, graduation is not an endpoint, it is a beginning of a new phase in life. it is a launching into the new stage of life beyond the one just completed. It is a sign of transition to a new chapter of life. It is always hard to associate graduation with beginnings. It seems much more natural to consider this a closing chapter in life, but reality is, graduation marks your commencement. Therefore, as you, deal with your excitement, I urge you to try and create the world you want to live in. Go into the world and make a difference. You have the knowledge, skills and attributes to make your communities and the world a better place. Your communities are counting on you, they can not wait to see how your degree and education will change the world. Go out there and advocate for social causes, You can use your voice to advocate for social causes that you care about, such as environmental sustainability, social justice, or human rights. Sharing knowledge and information with others can help raise awareness and promote positive change. Whether it is through formal education or informal channels such as social media or community events, this can be a powerful force for change. Being graduates from one of the best Business Schools, your communities expect you to innovate and create solutions to their problems. Use your creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to social challenges. This could involve developing new technologies, starting a social enterprise, or collaborating with others to create positive change. Find time to visit challenged communities, sit with community members, identify the problems they are facing, and come up with practical solutions. To create real, lasting change, you can not just assume what the communities’ needs are. You need to create a platform where you hear them out, don’t impose solutions, but brainstorm together. This means you are becoming responsive to the needs of society, and that is how your community will benefit from your degree. Some of you are Entrepreneurship students, start working with women in your communities to teach them basic financial skills and help them find business ideas and encourage them to venture into small businesses. Some of these women are already in business but do not make enough money for production, training them to develop financial planning goals and making a budget so they know if their business is viable. Encourage them to set goals and make things happen instead of waiting for change. You have the potential to contribute to society in many ways and help create a better future for yourself and others.
